Why Autonomous Maintenance (AM)?
Autonomous maintenance can be applied in almost any shop floor and is a proven success factor for reducing cost and machine downtime whilst increasing productivity and operator ownership.
AM improves machine reliability and availability through the ownership of machinery by operations via training and empowerment.
By training your team to improve the planning and execution of autonomous maintenance you get increased operational efficiency and productivity. The benefit is a smoother, more reliable production process, reducing unexpected machine downtime and improving the overall effectiveness of your operations.
Importantly, AM reduces maintenance technician time-on-machine at the challenging time of an ageing workforce of skilled technicians and insufficient new engineers and technicians entering the workplace.
This practical 3 to 5 day training will take you through the preparation for and execution of an AM event on at least one of your machines and be followed up with the essential coaching to ensure sustainment of your gains. Delegates will complete this course with all the training they need to then replicate results across other machines in your inventory.
Modules include:
- Introduction to Behavioural Based Safety
- Selection of machine and preparation of an AM event.
- Forming an AM team.
- Understanding the success metrics.
- Perfecting the 7 steps of AM.
- Design for Maintainability and Human Factors engineering.
- Interaction of AM and 6S
- Completing an AM event.
- Sustaining the Gains.
All maintenance and operations personnel will benefit from AM training. Operations personnel will benefit from this training by being able maintain their own machines to a much greater level of responsibility. Maintenance personnel will benefit as they will now be able to focus on more complex preventative and predictive maintenance, particularly now that skilled maintenance personnel are at a premium.
Production and maintenance supervisors, team leaders and machine operators.
There are two primary benefits to AM. Firstly, the improved reliability of your machine will immediately impact your bottom line through uptime, increased production and machine ownership. Secondly your teams will take pride in ownership, no longer having to stand around waiting for a maintenance technician to fix simple problems.
Modules include:
- Leading a Reliability Culture.
- The Autonomous Maintenance Cycle.
- Practical Problem Solving.
- SMED.
- Process optimization.
- Centerlining.
- 6S for sustainment.
- Application of Learning in a business Autonomous Maintenance Project.
Cost of Autonomous Maintenance
